Compatible Products
06/29/2025
When listing "compatible" products, you must ensure that their product titles and descriptions do not give your customers the impression that they are official products offered by the brands that manufacture the products whose functionality is supported by your "compatible" products unless this is actually true, to avoid committing intellectual property infringement.
What can I do to reduce the risk of IP infringement when listing "compatible" products?
When listing a "compatible" product, you can use the following terms in its product title or description:- made for
- compatible with
- intended for
- applicable for
- fits with
If your product is a "compatible" product actually manufactured by the brand:
❌ Not allowed: TikTok XYZ phone case
If your product is a generic "compatible" product:
❌ Not allowed: XYZ Laptop Sleeves
What happens if I breach these guidelines?

You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties. Please see our Violation Reasons, Points & Enforcement Actions for Sellers article and Seller Terms of Service for more information.
