What are Restricted Products?

Restricted Products are those that require prior approval from TikTok Shop to be sold. You may be required to pass a category approval process by submitting documents such as certifications, testing reports, product or package images, and other regulatory documentation.You may be prompted to provide these when uploading products in the following categories.

Beauty and Personal Care Products

This category will require sellers to provide specific product details and documents showing the product is safe for customers and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Products that have medical claims or applications.
Products that are prohibited by governmental agencies or contain prohibited ingredients such as mercury, hydroquinone, etc.
Products that are restricted or recommended for professional use only.
Second-hand beauty and personal care products.

Baby Food and Milk Formula Products

This category of products requires sellers to ensure that their product details are appropriately described and labelled.

Food and Beverage Products

This category of products requires sellers to ensure that their products are packaged appropriately, and have reasonable remaining shelf life. Perishable products must clearly have the expiration dates displayed in the product description.
