As a general rule, ensure that your packing and labelling process is compliant with all relevant local laws, and any conditions set by your Logistics Service Provider (LSP). Additionally, here are some specific dos and don'ts to follow when preparing orders for shipment:

✔️ Do's

• Print or download the packing list from the Seller Center for each order, and pack the order according to that list
  • To retrieve the packing list, follow these steps: Seller Center > Orders > Manage Orders > To Ship > Print Packing List

• Ensure all items in the order are included and that the correct product variations (e.g. size, color, model) are packed.
• Use a picking method that works for your order volume and warehouse setup:
  • Single-order picking for low volume
  • Batch picking for many small or similar orders
  • Zone picking for larger warehouses with multiple picking areas
• Use barcode scanning where possible. Barcode scanning helps minimize manual errors and ensures the right items are picked and packed.
• Maintain an organized inventory system. Consider using FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expired, First Out) to improve item traceability and reduce mistakes.
• Regularly train fulfillment staff and establish clear, easy-to-follow steps for inventory management, picking, and packing.
• Use appropriate packaging and packaging material to fit and secure the product(s) so it is protected from loss or damage
• Use large-sized dunnage, such as air pillows, whole sheets of paper, sheet foam or bubble wrap
• Choose a carton or box size that minimises unused packaging space
• Securely affix the correct shipping label to the package and ensure it is visible
  • For orders fulfilled by Ship by TikTok, to retrieve the shipping label, follow these steps: Seller Center > Orders > Manage Orders > Shipping Labels > Print

• Ensure the shipping label only includes information relevant to your customer's order - their name and address, the order details, and the address to be used for returns
• Cover or remove any irrelevant barcodes on the package
• Notify your LSP ahead of time if the package(s) requires special handling

❌ Don'ts

• Use any packaging or packaging material that is a potential safety or health hazard, such as large staple pins, nylon fibre-based tapes or loose-fill of any kind, like Styrofoam peanuts or shredded paper
• Bundle cartons or boxes together using bagging, elastic, tape or extra straps
• Include any unsolicited marketing or promotional material, such as pamphlets, display materials, price tags or stickers in the package
• Include any message that indicates the buyer may initiate a return in exchange for other benefits in the package
• Include any message soliciting positive customer reviews in the package
• Include hyperlinks, QR codes or the contact information of your shop on other e-commerce platforms on the package label

What happens if I breach these guidelines?

If you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account. You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties.
