Sung Bau (@sungbau02), a brand created by the couple Tu, currently lives in Dien Bien Province. As students, the couple began sharing their discoveries and content creation activities on TikTok. Through honest experiences of local life and culture, Sung Bau has attracted the love and trust of the TikTok community. After some time, they decided to explore and start a business to further promote local specialty products on TikTok Shop.
Starting from September 2022, the main product of Sung Bau family is Arrowroot vermicelli, made from pure arrowroot root and committed to quality and taste. Previously, arrowroot vermicelli was one of the local specialties produced entirely handmade and was the main income for local residents. Sung Bau family mainly participated in collecting and processing vermicelli using their own recipe and promoting the products on TikTok Shop platform.
According to Mr. Hang A Tu, "In order to produce the finished product, arrowroot vermicelli takes at least 5 months to process. It is harvested from our own tubers and followed by a series of thorough preprocessing steps. The production facility of Sung Bau has only a small piece of land, so we must collect tubers from each surrounding garden, which often doesn't meet the demand. Sung Bau arrowroot vermicelli sells out very quickly, often within 1 hour of live broadcasting on TikTok Shop. My wife and I sell around 100-200 orders each session. This means that as much as we produce each day, the vermicelli reaches customers fresh. I am happy to not only promote my hometown specialties but also help my neighbors earn additional income."
While building a sales channel on TikTok Shop, Sung Bau encountered many difficulties related to regulations that need to be learned and improved every day. "I am not afraid of not selling goods on TikTok Shop because the platform supports sellers with many policies and training processes. Each seller needs to pay attention to thoroughly understanding the sales process, committing to product quality, and always being transparent in the business process on the platform."With key items such as vernicelli, forest honey, dried bamboo, forest mushrooms and fungus, Sung Bau is making efforts to diversify and introduce more new specialties. They are also planning to shoot and share details of the production process so that everyone can better understand the quality and origin of the products.
