Policy Reminder - Avoid False Claims regarding "TikTok PayLater"

Customer trust is difficult to gain, and easy to lose. Ensuring that your content is accurate and honest will help you to become a reliable and trustworthy face on the platform, and attract more sales!
Please be reminded to avoid making any false claims regarding platform features, such as the TikTok PayLater feature.
  • Clearly state that TikTok PayLater eligibility varies by user, and creators cannot influence approval.
  • Do not make false claims (e.g., buying or engaging with LIVE increases approval chances).
  • Guide users to check their eligibility on key TikTok Shop pages (Home, Product Page, Order Center, Order Completion).
  • Remind viewers that TikTok PayLater is optional and other payment methods are available.

Policy Reminder - Irrelevant Promotional Content is Prohibited

Irrelevant Promotional Content refers to posts that don’t clearly promote the listed product. This includes:
  • Showing a product not mentioned in the listing
  • Not clearly displaying or promoting the product
  • Livestreams with no commercial intent or product discussion
Irrelevant Promotional Content is prohibited on TikTok Shop.Policy violations may lead to enforcement actions including but not limited to Violation Points.

Policy Reminder - Sensational & Shocking Content is Prohibited

We expect our creators to be respectful and responsible when promoting products; this includes avoiding all forms of sensational and shocking content. We have updated our policy article to elaborate on the following prohibited content:
  • Uncomfortable or unpleasant visuals such as visuals of real/realistic blood, human or animal waste, or dirt being removed from drains.
  • Graphic close-ups of skincare or bodycare procedures that may cause discomfort to viewers, such as pimple or blackhead extraction, earwax removal, tongue-scraping, skin-peeling, waxing, or blood extraction.
Policy violations may lead to enforcement actions including but not limited to Violation Points.

Free Trial Star Shop+ with Enhanced Benefits for Star Shop Sellers

Starting from 3rd December 2025, we’re excited to introduce a free trial of Star Shop+ , an upgraded tier of the existing Star Shop Program, designed to recognize and reward top-performing Star Shop sellers.
As a Star Shop+ seller, you now have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive benefits, including:
  • Advertising coupons with 50% discount up to 150 Million VND to promote your products
  • [Available soon] Free Premium Access to the Order Capacity Management Tool, allowing sellers to increase their daily order limit by up to 5 times and extend fulfilment deadlines by up to 2 business days through the Order Capacity Management Tool
The Star Shop badge shown to customers and creators will remain unchanged.
Eligibility criteria:To qualify for Star Shop+, sellers must:
  • Be a Star Shop seller for the past 3 months
  • Achieve Store rating subscores (Product Satisfaction, Fulfilment & Logistics, and Customer Service) of at least 3.5
  • Participate in the Voucher Extra Program (VXP) (Mandatory)
Your performance will be automatically reviewed each month for Star Shop+ eligibility.
Star Shop+ free trial will be available at launch until further notice. The original Star Shop Program will continue to be available to all sellers, offering core benefits that recognize and support sellers who consistently perform well on TikTok Shop.

Effective 01 Jan 2026 - Aftersales Approval Tool Activation

To help sellers improve customer experience, we may activate the "Auto-Approval Tool" in certain cases (as below). The tool helps to speed up order cancellation & return/refund request approvals.
How will this work?

  • If sellers do not review >90% of received order cancellation and return/refund requests in time for 1 month, the auto-approval tool for the respective requests will be activated.
  • Only requests meeting the certain criteria will be auto-approved using the tool.
  • Customers may only trigger the tool up to 3 times per month.
  • The tool will be activated for a minimum of 15 calendar days, but can be deactivated after 15 calendar days through the Fulfillment Settings (Order Cancellation | Returns & Refunds) page.

[Effective 05 November] Update on Seller Appeal SLA

To improve the efficiency of the aftersales process, TikTok Shop has reviewed and optimized the Seller Appeal SLA for cases in which a refund has been issued by the platform to the buyer, but the returned item has not yet been received by the seller.
  1. When can I raise an appeal?
    1. If you disagree with TikTok Shop’s decision to refund a buyer, you may submit an appeal through Seller Center or the TikTok App within the specified timeframe below.
  2. What’s changing?
    1. Scenario 1: Order returned, but item not received by seller (e.g., delayed, lost in transit)
      1. For drop-off or pick-up returns: You may submit a “Return but Not Received” appeal 5 calendar days after the buyer has shipped the returned item.
      2. For self-arranged returns: You may submit an appeal within 15 calendar days from the date the buyer shipped the returned item.
    2. Scenario 2: Order returned and item received by seller
      1. For drop-off or pick-up returns: You may submit an appeal within 7 calendar days after the returned item is delivered.
      2. For self-arranged returns: You may submit an appeal within 15 calendar days from the date the buyer shipped the returned item.
💡 Pro Tips!
  • The “Appeal” button will only be visible once the appeal window opens.
  • If the button does not appear, it may be because:
    • The appeal window has not yet opened, or
    • The appeal window has already closed (e.g., more than 7 calendar days after return delivery, depending on the scenario).
  • You can check the remaining time to submit an appeal directly in Seller Center.

[Effective 01 December 2025] Adjustments to our NDDR & FDR Timelines

From 1 December 2025, the order fulfillment timelines used to calculate your Fast Dispatch Rate (FDR) and Next-Day Delivery Rate (NDDR) will be updated. Please review these changes carefully as they may affect your shop’s metrics.
What is changing?The changes below impact FDR & NDDR calculations:
  • Orders placed before 18:00H (previously 16:00H) must be shipped within the same working day.
  • Orders placed after 18:00H (previously 16:00H) must be shipped by 11:59H (previously 23:59H) the next working day.
Our goal is to ensure a smoother experience for both sellers and buyers. The new cut-off times reflect updated courier schedules and buyer delivery expectations, helping maintain faster, more predictable deliveries.
How can I optimise my delivery?To maintain a high FDR and NDDR:
  • For same-day pickup:
    • Change the order status to “To Ship – Awaiting Collection” by 19:00H to increase the chance of pickup by 23:59H on the same day.
  • For next-day pickup:
    • Change the order status to “To Ship – Awaiting Collection” by 09:00H the next working day to increase the chance of pickup by 11:59H.
Updated FDR & NDDR Deadlines

On TikTok Shop, customers rely on promotional content such as product photographs, videos, and descriptions to make their shopping decisions. As a creator, your job is to showcase the listed product clearly and originally.
What's new?From 10th October 2025, the product must be mentioned verbally, or displayed in content. Only mentioning the product using text overlays will not count.
What is Irrelevant Promotional Content?Irrelevant Promotional Content refers to posts that don’t clearly promote the listed product. This includes:
  • Showing a product not mentioned in the listing
  • Not clearly displaying or promoting the product

[Policy Update] Affiliate Collaboration Policy Update

Starting 20 October 2025, shops that receive a high volume of serious customer complaints — such as those involving empty parcels, counterfeit goods, or suspected fraud — may be disqualified from Affiliate Collaboration.
Depending on the severity, Affiliate Collaboration access may be suspended for 14 to 30 days.

[Policy Update] New! Submit a Violation Correction to Avoid Enforcement

Starting November, you will be able to correct select violations directly through Seller Center before enforcement actions take effect. Once your correction is approved, the violation will be cancelled.

Prohibited Content Editing Techniques
To keep our platform safe, fair, and enjoyable for all users, we want to inform you of stricter enforcement against certain content editing techniques that attempt to hide unoriginal material. This includes:
  • Sandwich Frames – Adding unrelated pictures or videos above and below the main video, so the promoted content sits in the middle. This makes the video appear different to detection systems but provides no value to viewers.
  • Subtle Frame Insertion – Inserting very quick flashes of random images inside a video. Viewers often can’t see these, but they change the video’s digital “fingerprint” to bypass detection.
These edits do not make content original. They only serve to evade detection and can disrupt the viewing experience. Going forward, videos that use these methods may face enforcement actions.

From 15th September 2025, Unoriginal Content may lead to increased enforcement actions.
What is Unoriginal Content?Unoriginal Content refers to any content you didn't create yourself, such as material taken from other creators or sources. Examples of Unoriginal Content include:
  • Stitching a product review video without any new commentary.
  • Uploading screen recordings from a movie or TV show and blurring the original logo or watermark.
  • Using the stitch, duet, or overlay function without providing any verbal or in-text promotion of the product.
  • Switching between livestreaming and playback of pre-recorded clips.
  • Recreating a video that directly mirrors the actions of another creator's content.
  • Merging content that is not your own without permission with your personal original content.
What happens if I breach this policy?Breaching this policy may lead to enforcement actions such as:
  • Violation Points
  • Commission Freeze
  • Removal of traffic/exposure/platform recommendation for the violating content
If you think an enforcement action has been taken against you in error, appeal via the TikTok App. You may submit the following as evidence:
  • Option A: Proof of Ownership (if you own the content)
  • Option B: Proof of Authorization (if another creator has given you permission to use their content)

Why are we taking action against this?Our goal is to maintain a high-quality content environment that helps Sellers showcase products effectively, Creators build authentic connections, and Customers make confident purchase decisions. By avoiding repetitive, non-engaging posting practices, you contribute to a healthier and more trustworthy ecosystem on TikTok Shop.
What is Repetitive Non-Engaging Content Publishing?Repetitive and Non-Engaging Content Publishing involves repeatedly posting near-identical product videos that add little informational or entertainment value. Examples include:
  • Large volumes of nearly identical videos with minimal creative variation
  • Videos showing only products or hands, with no faces, voices, or personal context
  • Overuse of generic narration (e.g., text-to-speech, basic text overlays) without meaningful creator input or commentary
  • Posting similar videos across multiple accounts

  • Temporary suppression of traffic
  • Permanent suppression of traffic (for severe or multiple repeat offenses)

Dear Sellers,
To improve the quality of products promoted by creators, TikTok Shop will update the Affiliate Collaboration Qualification criteria effective 15 September 2025. What's changing?To qualify for Affiliate Collaboration, your products must meet the following Seller-Fault Return & Refund Rate (SFRR) thresholds:
  • For Electronics, <3%
  • For Lifestyle and Fashion, <2.8%
  • For FMCG, <2.5%
Note: This applies to products that have received at least 5 seller-fault returns and refund orders
A shop or specific product may be restricted from Affiliate Collaborations if it receives a high volume of serious customer complaints (e.g., empty parcels, counterfeit goods, suspected fraud).

[Policy Update] Negative Balance Policy

From 26th September 2025 onwards, we will be simplifying our enforcement actions against Negative Balances.
What's new?
  • Negative balances exceeding US$100 may lead to a suspension of seller benefits (previously ranged from US$100 - US$500 with different restrictions depending on the size of the negative balance)
  • Freezing of Wallet Withdrawal & Account Deactivation will now take place only when your negative balance exceeds US$250 and US$500 respectively (previously US$100)
What can I do to reduce the chances of a negative balance?Negative balances may occur when miscellaneous platform expenses exceed shop revenue. The following reasons may contribute to a negative balance.

[Policy Updates] Shipping Fee Updates

Shipping Fee Updates — Effective 3 September 2025

Starting 3 September 2025, the forward shipping fees (delivery fee incurred to deliver the orders from seller to buyer) for the following cases will be settled by sellers (capped at 40,000 ₫ per order). Our goal is to support your sustainable growth by focusing on continued investment in programs that potentially increase your revenue.
  • Failed-Delivery Orders
    • If a failed delivery is caused by the logistics service provider, you may submit a complaint within 7 working days through Customer Service with supporting evidence.
  • Customer Returns (including, but not limited to, “No Longer Needed” returns)
    • For these returns, the forward shipping fees will be settled by sellers after discounting any shipping voucher covered by the platform.
What Won’t Be ChargedYou will not be required to settle forward shipping fees for:
  • Partial Return Orders — when a buyer returns only part of an order.
  • Refund-Only Orders — when the order is refunded without a physical return.
  • “Shipped by Seller” Orders — where the seller arranges delivery independently.
We understand changes like these can impact your business and we’re committed to supporting you through the transition. In October 2025, we’re launching an optional program designed to help you offset these costs and protect your margins. More details on how to join will be shared soon.

[Reminder] Appeal refund decisions for wrongly returned items

If an item has been wrongly returned, you may appeal the refund decision to request compensation for order fulfillment issues, including:
  • Damaged products upon return
  • Incorrect items returned by the customer
  • Refund decisions made by TikTok Shop
How to Submit an Appeal:
  • Go to Seller Center
  • Navigate to Orders > Manage Returns/Refunds > Appeal
  • Submit supporting documentation for review

[Criteria Update - 7th Feb 2025] TikTok Shop Mall Qualification Criteria

TikTok Shop Mall is a virtual shopping mall that features a curated selection of brands, reputable retailers and authorized resellers. Sellers who qualify to sell products on TikTok Shop Mall are referred to as TikTok Shop Mall Sellers. TikTok Shop Mall Sellers will have access to the following:

Key changes
  • Official or Marketing creator accounts can promote products from the linked shop.
  • To obtain Affiliate permission,
    • The Creator account must be a Marketing Account, and
    • The Marketing Account must meet the Affiliate permission criteria.

  1. You may link TikTok accounts to your shop account within Seller Center
    • PC Desktop Web Version (Seller Centre → My Account → Linked TikTok accounts)
    • Seller Centre App version (Seller Centre → Settings → Linked TikTok accounts)
  2. Visit the TikTok Shop Creator Center to check if your marketing creator account is eligible for Affiliate permission.
    • TikTok Shop Tool Kit Section → Affiliate Permission → submit your application.
    • Once approved, you can begin promoting products from the Product Marketplace.

Policy reminder! From 18th November 2024, your Fast Dispatch Rate will contribute to your Store Rating

To provide you with a way to assess your fulfillment performance and better serve your customers, we previously announced that we will be introducing the Fast Dispatch Rate metric.
From 18th November 2024, it will also replace the Late Dispatch Rate for the purposes of calculating your Store Rating. Please read the Store Rating article to learn more.

Policy Guidance! When Listing Branded Products, please adhere to our Branded Product Listing Guidelines

Policy Update! From 18th November 2024, your Fast Dispatch Rate will contribute to your Store Rating.What are Branded Products?Branded products are products bearing a brand. The brand and its features of the brand may be protected by intellectual property rights which are owned by rightsholders. These rights must be respected by sellers on our platform.
What do I need to do when listing Branded Products?
  • When selling a branded product, the product listing must explicitly state that it is branded, allowing consumers to identify the brand without any difficulties.
  • Listing attributes (title, product images, description, sku info etc.) should mention the brand being sold, where possible.
  • Ensure that all listing attributes are consistent with the product listing "Brand" field.
  • Do not attempt to hide or withhold any brand information, or you may receive a Brand Circumvention violation.

Scammers are targeting sellers with payout blocks, falsely claiming they can unblock funds for a fee. The only legitimate way to unblock payouts is by submitting a valid tax code via the TikTok Shop Seller Center.

Effective Sep 16: Dangerous Goods must be declared during product listing

A dangerous good is any product capable of posing a risk to health, safety, and property during shipping, storage, and handling. These goods can contain flammable, corrosive, pressurised, or otherwise harmful substances.

What do I need to do?
You are required to declare if your goods are 'Dangerous Goods' during product listing. You may do so by selecting "Yes" for the attribute "Dangerous Goods" under the "Shipping" section of the product listing page. You may also edit this for existing products.
What would happen if I fail to declare my "Dangerous goods"?
  • Lithium battery products (such as powerbanks, laptops or smartphones)
  • Corrosive or flammable liquids (such as household cleaners)
  • Aerosol products (such as insecticides, or air fresheners)
  • Oxidising products (such as fertilizers)
  • Failing to declare your product(s) as "dangerous goods" may result in your parcels/product being seized and/or destroyed by authorities, and your order being cancelled.
  • In addition, if you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account. You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties.

Policy Reminder: Avoid publishing content primarily with Static/Still Images or Text

Original, interactive, and genuine content is more likely to garner you more views, and hence, more sales! Customers value content where Creators share their personal experiences and reviews of the product they are promoting. We highly encourage you to appear in your own videos as they make your content more personal.
We would like to remind you to avoid content which primarily consists of static/still images or textExamples of content to avoid
  • Content where a video is playing in the background with a static image covering most of the video.
  • Content with mostly text/images, with a small segment showing an irrelevant video.
  • Content with static images "moving" using video effects.
Note: When using templates or video-generators, you are required to include your own original content as well.

Effective Sep 17: Updated Affiliate Collaboration Qualification Thresholds

To improve the quality of products promoted by Creators on our platform, we will be updating our Affiliate Collaboration Qualification thresholds from 17 September 2024.What are the requirements to qualify for Affiliate Collaborations?Shop Criteria
  • No counterfeit-related Violation Points in the last 60 calendar days
  • Store Rating must be at least 3
Product Criteria
  • Negative Review Rate for Electronics and Fashion products must be less than 1.5%.
  • Negative Review Rate for Home & Living, Health, and Beauty & Personal Care products must be less than 1.3%.
  • Negative Review Rate for Groceries and "Mom & Babies" products must be less than 1%.
Please note that your shop or a specific product may be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing if it fails to meet the above criteria.
