What are the Seller-Creator Unbinding Criteria?

The Seller-Creator Unbinding Criteria applies to Merchant Creators who want to unbind from Sellers. Creators who don’t meet the criteria will face restrictions on unbinding for specific periods.
These criteria limit the unbinding of official and channel accounts based on account health to maintain TikTok Shop as a safe platform.

Seller-Creator Unbinding Criteria

Unbinding can be done a maximum of 3 times. After that, creators can not unlink and the binding will be permanent.
Binding can be done up to 10 times within a 180-day period.

Seller UI for Rejected Scenarios

PC UI
  • Show an "Unlink" button.
  • If unlinking is not possible, the button is greyed out.
  • When hovering over the greyed-out button, a message appears showing the reason why unlinking is not allowed.
App UI
  • Show an "Unlink" button.
  • If unlinking is not possible, clicking the button triggers a bottom pop-up window that displays the reason.

Whenever creators hover/click the button, the message will show up, indicating the remaining unlink times

  1. How many Official/ Marketing Accounts a seller can link?
After probation, a seller can link one Official Account and 4 Marketing Accounts
  1. Can I change my Official Account Name?
No, your shop name will automatically sync and become your TikTok Official Account name
  1. If I get rejected to initiate unbindings, when can I unbind from seller?
It depends on the rejected reasons:
  • Minimum binding requirement - you can retry after 48 hours from the binding.
  • Other criteria - please retry after 30 days
  1. If I successfully appeal the violations, can I unbind from the sellers?
Yes, if your appeal is approved and the serious violation is removed or your total violation points drop below 12, you’ll be able to unbind from the sellers.
