In this article, we will guide you on how to join as an Affiliate Creator. We have two types of Affiliate Creators, Link-Share Only and Affiliate, that have different features available to them upon applying.
To get you started: We will go over the differences between both Link-Share Only and Affiliate Creators, what their functions are, and how a Link-Share Only Creator can upgrade to become an Affiliate Creator.

Before You Start

Check Your Eligibility

To apply to be a TikTok Shop Creator:

• Your TikTok account must have at least 1000 followers
• You must be at least 18 years old
• Your TikTok account must not be a Government, Politician and Political Party Account (GPPPA) as defined in this article.
• The e-commerce content on your TikTok account must comply with our TikTok Community Guidelines
• You must not have any prior record of having e-commerce permissions revoked by TikTok Shop
• Your associated TikTok Shop account(s) must not have any platform violation risk.

Documents for Identity Verification

Verify your Identity before Starting Your Journey as an Affiliate Creator

Before you start your journey, such as posting shoppable videos, going LIVE, adding products into Showcase and withdrawing your earnings, you will be asked to complete your Identity and Age Verification.

You will be prompted at various points across the app to begin the verification process

Step 1: Start the Verification Process

Step 2: Select ID and scan ID based on the in-app guidance for verification.

Step 3: Submit your address information based on your ID to help us verify your identity.

Please enter your valid Vietnam address as reflected in your personal records. This address should match the Proof of Address document you may be asked to submit during verification.

Step 4: Complete NFC Scan (For Vietnamese creators)

In order to complete NFC authentication, the following document is required:
How to Complete NFC Verification:

1. Ensure that device supports NFC scanning, and turn on NFC on your device

Most newer smartphones support NFC, but availability may differ by device model.
Before scanning, make sure NFC is enabled in your phone settings.

• For iPhones, NFC is generally enabled automatically on supported models.
• For Android devices, NFC can usually be turned on under: Settings > Connections > NFC
  

2. Tap your CCCD on the back of your device

Hold your chip-based CCCD against the back of your phone and keep it still until the scan is complete. The NFC reader is usually located near the top or middle of the back of the device.
If the scan does not work, try slowly moving the CCCD around the back of your phone until it is detected.

3. If you are unable to complete the NFC scan

If NFC scanning fails after several attempts, check that:

• Your CCCD has an embedded chip and that the chip is undamaged.
• NFC is turned on.
• Your phone case has been removed.
• The card is held still against the back of the phone

Things to note:

• All documents must be valid and not expired.
• Information from each uploaded document must match what was manually entered.
• Uploads must meet requirements of having the full document visible, and must not be physically or digitally altered.
• Please ensure all uploads of documents are <5 MB in PDF, JPEG (JPG) or PNG format. File names should be a string of text or alphanumeric without any special characters (*, \, ?, ]), etc.

Link-Share Only Creator Functions

As a Link-Share Only Creator, your in-app functions mainly focus on your earning capabilities using Affiliate Links. You will be able to do the following functions:

• Access to Affiliate Center
  • Add Products to your Showcase: Link-Share Only Showcase is only visible to the Creator. To earn commission from products, you will need to add your products to your Showcase to generate the link!
  • Check Creator Data: In the Creator Center, you can track your earning capacity along with your estimated commission

Affiliate Creator Functions

Once your account reaches the requirements to start/upgrade as an Affiliate Creator, you get to enjoy all the Link-Share Only functions and more.

• Access to Affiliate Center
  • You will have access to more features that are only for Affiliate Creators. Open it in your app and explore!
• More ways to earn commission: Aside from product link sharing, you will have more options to earn commission. You will get to promote products directly on the FYP page.
• Free Sample Requests: With Affiliate Creators, you can request free products from Sellers to use in your short videos or LIVE sessions

How can Affiliate Creators earn Commission?

Affiliate Creators have the capability to earn commission from these pathways. The main advantage is that you can directly earn from the app itself through the use of short videos and LIVE sessions.

• Aside from Product link sharing, Affiliate Creators can also earn by sharing their showcase link. All the products in the showcase are eligible for commission.
• Buyers can also directly add products from the creator's showcase by going to their account.
  
  

FAQ

Why did I fail identity verification?

Your identity verification may have failed during the ID document verification and/or facial verification process for one of the following reasons:

1. You do not meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
2. You submitted an unsupported or incorrect identity document.
3. Your identity document is unclear, expired, incomplete, or could not be verified.
4. The personal information you submitted does not match the information on your identity document.
5. Facial verification was unsuccessful because:
   • The face captured during verification could not be matched to your identity document; or
   • The facial image was unclear, incomplete, or of insufficient quality.

Please review the reason for the failure, correct any issues, and resubmit your verification.

How many chances do I have to complete identity verification?

You generally have up to 6 attempts to complete identity verification.

Please make sure that the information and documents you submit are clear, accurate, and belong to you. If your verification is unsuccessful, you may be asked to try again, unless the verification result shows that further attempts are not supported for your account.

How long does identity verification take?

Identity verification typically takes up to 24 hours. It may take longer if additional information or documents are required, such as proof of address or other supporting documents.

You may check your Creator Verification Center for the verification result, or to see if there is any pending information or document submission required.

Can I reapply for e-commerce creator permission if my identity verification fails?

It depends on the reason your identity verification was unsuccessful. In some cases, you may be able to submit the missing information or reapply for e-commerce creator permission and complete verification again. In other cases, further verification attempts or reapplication may not be supported.

Please check the instructions shown in your Creator Verification Center or account notification, and follow the required steps.

Can I change the identity used for identity verification, transfer ownership, or use someone else’s ID?

No. At this point, we’re unable to support changing the verified identity, transferring account ownership to another person, or using someone else’s identity document for verification.

The identity information submitted must belong to the person operating the creator account. This is required for compliance, audit, and account security reasons.

If the Creator suddenly falls below the minimum follower limit for Affiliate designation, will they be reverted back to Link-Share Only?

No. Once you are granted access as an Affiliate Creator, you can continue to use all the available features.

If my account already has the minimum follower count to be an Affiliate Creator before I apply, will my account start at Link-Share Only or can it go straight to Affiliate Creator?

In this case, your account can automatically become an Affiliate Creator. You will have the option to earn commission from your links, showcase, short videos and livestreams from the very start.
