Important update: Address changes under Vietnam's new administrative divisions

To comply with Vietnam's nationwide administrative restructuring, TikTok Shop is updating the address system in Seller Center. This section explains what is changing and what you should do to keep your operations running smoothly.

Background

As of July 1, 2025, Vietnam has officially reorganized its administrative units:
  • Number of provinces/cities: Reduced from 63 to 34.
  • District level: District-level administrative units have been abolished.
  • Communes/wards: Reconfigured to 3,321 communes, wards and special zones.
The address format on TikTok Shop will be updated to follow the new two-level model. The District/Town field will be removed from all seller and buyer addresses. This change affects:
  • Your saved addresses: pick up warehouses and return warehouse.
  • Shipping labels: All new shipping labels will use the updated format.
  • Logistics and routing: Shipping partners will route parcels based on the new Province/City – Commune/Ward – detailed street address structure.

What TikTok Shop will update

To make this transition as smooth as possible, TikTok Shop will update the system for you wherever possible.
  • Phase 1: Automated updates (rolling out): We will gradually update all saved seller addresses in Seller Center to the new format in a rolling schedule for all sellers.

  • Phase 2: Notifications: After the automated updates, you will receive notifications in Seller Center to confirm whether your addresses were updated successfully or still require manual review. You need to update your addresses before the deadline to keep your operations running smoothly.

What sellers should do now

To avoid any disruption to order processing and deliveries, you should proactively review and update all saved addresses on TikTok Shop.
Step-by-step checklist:
  1. Review all saved addresses: After the system auto-update, go to TikTok Shop Seller Center and review the following addresses:
    • Pick up Warehouse address: Seller Center -> Logistics -> Warehouses -> All pick-up warehouses -> Edit

    • Return address: Seller Center -> Logistics -> Warehouse -> Return warehouse -> Edit

  2. Cross-check with the official lookup tool: Use the official website sapnhap.bando.com.vn to find the new administrative unit corresponding to your existing address.
  3. Update addresses on TikTok Shop: Edit your addresses into the new format if the system did not update them automatically or if the result is inaccurate. Make sure your map pin matches the real location.
  • Edit warehouse address -> Enter the detailed address -> Drag the map pin to your exact location -> Confirm pinpoint (scroll down) -> Save

Tip: Make sure the written address and the map pin match so that shipping partners can pick up and return parcels correctly and your order handling is not interrupted.
  1. Sync with your other systems: If you use Warehouse Management, Order Management (OMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or third-party logistics (3PL) partners, update the same new addresses there so that all systems stay consistent.

Operational impacts

  • Existing orders: Orders that were confirmed before the address update will continue to be processed normally using the previous administrative information.
  • Map and address suggestions: During the transition, mapping services such as Google Maps may show both old and new administrative boundaries or take time to update. This can affect address suggestions in forms. Always double-check that the selected address matches the official information.
  • Confirming new orders: If you see a warning about an unverified or outdated address when confirming a new order, it means an update is required. Please complete address verification or editing immediately so you can proceed.
Recommendation: Proactively review and update all of your addresses as soon as you are prompted. In the early stage you may still be able to process orders with the old format, but if you do not update, you may later be blocked from confirming new orders or handling returns/refunds. Watch official announcements in Seller Center for concrete cut-off dates.

Q: Why does my address sometimes still appear in the old format on Google Maps? A: Mapping platforms such as Google Maps are also updating their data nationwide. During this period, you may see both old and new versions. Rely on the official lookup tool and the address format in Seller Center for your operations.
Q: What should I do if my commune/ward or special zone is not yet supported by any carrier? A: Please contact TikTok Shop Seller Support for guidance and, where possible, alternative solutions.
Q: Can I keep using an address that still shows a district level? A: After the system update is completed, you will no longer be able to create or save addresses using the district level. All sellers should move to the new Province/City – Commune/Ward – detailed address format as soon as possible.
