Customers expect product listings to be accurate, useful and verifiable, so do be aware of the following when listing your products:

Restrictions on products you can sell

Controlled Products

Products must comply with Vietnam's laws, be undamaged, fully functional, and free from defects. In addition, all products must be eligible for sale on our platform. For more information, please see:

Surprise-based Products

We consider products to be surprise-based if an element of mystery or surprise is an important part of the product the customer is purchasing. These include purchases where the customer is not certain of the product contents until they receive it. Examples include Mystery Boxes, Golden Eggs, Advent Calendars, and Surprise Trading Card Packs.

Restrictions on how you list your products

Alternate Ordering Information (Redirecting Traffic)

Alternate ordering information refers to links, references, phone numbers, social media handles, email addresses, or QR codes that direct users away from TikTok Shop to place orders or contact sellers. This includes "calls to action" that encourage customers to leave the TikTok Shop to order.

Gambling Content

Gambling-related products, services and paraphernalia are also not allowed to be sold on TikTok Shop. Examples include, but are not limited to, allowing users to pay to spin a roulette wheel for the possibility of winning an item of value. Examples include, but are not limited to, allowing users to pay to spin a roulette wheel for the possibility of winning an item of value.
Gamification with elements of chance to determine item(s) a customer will receive is prohibited. Examples include, but are not limited to, the use of games of chance such as wheel spin, lucky scoops or lucky draws.

Infringement of Intellectual Property or Personal Rights

This involves publishing or distributing content that infringes, encourages or enables the infringement of the intellectual property or personal rights of others. This includes the use of brands, logos, or names and images of individuals for commercial purposes without express permission from the brand or individuals.

"Compatible" Products

These are products that are designed to be used with other products or support their functionality, such as handphone charging cables. When listing such products, you must be careful not to create the impression that these products are actually manufactured by the same brand that created the primary product.

Misleading Claims and Clickbait Tactics

Customers can sometimes be misled by untrue, exaggerated or absolute claims about products.
We consider a product listing to be misleading if it features:

Platform Subsidy Abuse

Certain listing practices (for example, artificially inflating product prices) constitute an abuse of the subsidies we provide. Such practices are not allowed on our platform.

Product Listings Directed Towards Minors

Product listings that use images, language, or themes designed to appeal to minors or attempt to persuade minors to buy or ask an adult to buy a product on their behalf are considered to be directed towards minors. Product listings that may have a negative effect on minor safety are also prohibited.

Shocking, Sensational or Violent Content

Shocking, sensational or excessively violent content can negatively impact customers' experience. This may include bloody or gruesome content, animal abuse, or offensive content.

Unfair Behaviour or Terms of Sales

Product listings must not impose unfair terms on customers. This may include:
  • Intimidating, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate statements with the intent to get customers to act in the interest of the seller or prevent them from giving honest feedback
  • Soliciting, incentivising, or offering customers monetary or non-monetary rewards in exchange for a good review
  • Imposing any terms of sale that state or suggest that their sales services supersede or replace TikTok Shop's policies or any consumer rights afforded to customers by local law.

Weight Management Claims

Promoting an unhealthy body image, claiming that losing or gaining weight is easy or guaranteed, or promising that a particular product alone (without exercise or proper diets) may lead to weight gain or loss, are considered weight management claims.
